Why do we play video games?

Why do we play video games.

This is a topic that I wanted to cover from millions of years.

Well, I didn't exist millions of years ago.

But whatsoever today is the day.

Why do we play video games?

Let's get started.

See, If you think that you play It just for fun then you are exaugurating. Why?

Let me explain.

See video games have a fun element in them but it's not only the fun element that makes you quit school and sit down the whole day and play CS: GO.

So what's the deal: You play video games to fulfill our three main needs:

1. Autonomy.
2. Competence.
3. Relatedness.

Now I know that you are having trouble understanding this just like me so let's explain together.

Autonomy is a need which is fulfilled when we play open world games.

In open world games, there is a will to explore new world find new things and make new things out of them.

These games include Minecraft and Pokemon sapphire.

These games are for people who love adventure.

Next: Competence.

Competence is those gamers who love to play competent games.

These games are based on levels beating bosses,
Completing new arenas.
And so on.

These games include games like super Mario run and games like Shadow fight 2.

Where you have to beat bosses.
And so on.

Next: Relatedness.

This is another new era game which is proven by games that fulfill our needs of being the one who is important.

This is most seen in multiplayer games. Games like CS: GO.

The interest of these games is seen in those who want to make new friends support them in their journey.

So three reasons explained.

But do we play games just for these?
No.

See, whenever you play a game you encounter a
the release of a certain amount of neurotransmitter.

These neurotransmitters level will define your addition to the game.

Think wisely, why everyone is so addicted to games?

See, whenever you play some game your brains give their focus to the game. During the period when you play the game, you may encounter some moments where you pass a level or complete a new achievement.

Yes! During that particular moment when you get something rewarding a chemical is released that chemical is called Dopamine.

This chemical is related to happiness.
In simple words, whenever this chemical is released you feel happy and you simply become more addicted towards the game.

It all takes place in our brain so we don't have that much control over it.

Remember the time when you got a Mewtwo in Pokemon go or you got 10 Masterballs in Pokemon XY.

The time when you beat Bowser in Mario.
When you beat Titan in Shadow fight 2.

Yo! That is the moment when there is the release of Dopamine.

So, next time when your mom blames you for playing video game tell them that it's your brain's fault, not yours.

I don't think that I have to explain you anymore. You guys are intelligent. Einstien's ha ha.

Share this with that friend who always plays a video game and gets scolded by his mom.
